Picture yourself driving in the car with no rush to get to your destination. Until you then realize the time is going by you. Ahead of you the traffic light is yellow with the sudden urge to make the light and the adrenaline then hits your body like a shock going straight to your feet and you begin to press harder on the gas to make that light even though it means to slow down. Would you say that is impulse? How many times have you had premeditated thoughts? Or have you ever been in a situation or in a place in your life that your first instinct or reaction on your compulsions was a dangerous move to make. You did not think about it until you then realize that you should have never said or reacting in that manner.
Imagine being in traffic and you are in a rush to get to your destination every time and that traffic camera flashes you knowing you just added another ticket to your pile. I always been the speed racer behind the wheel whom light was always green, and I never saw the yellow light to slow down not even the red light to stop. That is the metaphor I would use with reacting on impulse. Would you? Have you been in circumstances you had to question yourself after and then replays in your mind of what could have happen? I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have been that person fighting demons at the same time because it was not just my impulse but my immediate reaction or response. Let’s get in the fast car to “The Journey of the Unbreakable Warrior” to find out what route I took to slow down or stop at my traffic light.
